Q: What do you do for a living?

A: I work in information services for Rochester Public Utilities. In layman’s terms, I tell people to restart their computers all day.

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?

A: Probably video games, listening to music, or playing guitar. One of those three for sure, it’s just really hard to pick one.

Q: Favorite genre of music?

A: So it really depends on what I am doing. I listen to music all day long. At work I listen to either 89.3 The Current or 90’s Gangsta Rap depending on what I am doing that day. When it comes to working out, the days that Metal is going on, that’s my jam.

Q: Favorite cheat day meal?

A: Pizza, hands down.

Q: Calk, or no chalk?

A: Normally no chalk. If I have a recent tear I will use it.

Q: Do you hate wall balls as much as we do?

A: I definitely don’t love them, but there are worse things.

Q: What’s your favorite movement?

A: Snatch. When you are doing it right it’s like a beautiful art form. When you are doing it wrong, you know it for sure.

Q: What’s your least favorite movement?

A: Ugh. Running. As far as strength movements… pull ups only because I don’t have them yet.

Q: What goal(s) are you currently chasing?

A: Stringing together pull-ups would be my number one right now. 100kg snatch and Clean & Jerk being a close second.

Q: Best piece of advice you’ve gotten from a Coach?

A: Just be the best Dom you can be everyday. Don’t worry about what anyone else is doing. That carries over into life outside the gym as well.

Q: How do you make time to get to the gym?

A: 2-hour lunches, showing up early to work, and disappearing.

Q: Why do you make time to get to the gym?

A: Because I can’t imagine what else there is. I make it a point each day to make time for myself and that is what I want to do.

Q: How has your outlook on fitness changed since starting CrossFit?

A: OMG yes. I used to think I was good after 20 minutes and that eating a ton of chemicals was actually healthy. Since joining CFP, I have realized so many things I was doing before were so wrong.

Q: How has your outlook on yourself changed since starting CrossFit?

A: I feel great, like all the time. I have maybe 3-5 bad days a year.

Q: How would you explain the feeling before you get to the gym each day?

A: Anticipating greatness. Whether it is from me or another member, someone is going to do something awesome today.

Q: How would you explain the feeling you get after you leave the gym each day?

A: The first feeling is awesome; the second would be needing Chipotle.

Q: How has your life outside CrossFit changed since joining CFP?

A: I try to stay active all of the time. I used to play video games for 5 hours a night because I went for a run earlier that day or something of the sort. Now after I get a good WOD in, I will go for a jog or stretch for an hour when I get home.

Q: What has been your fondest memory during your time at CFP?

A: Friday Night Lights this year with the Unicorns and the rest of the community. It made the open way less scary.

Q: What brought you to CFP?

A: Boredom with what I was doing for fitness and I had a friend that went here at the time.

Q: What keeps you at CFP?

A: The Coaches and Community. Everyone is always so welcoming and willing to help.

Q: What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining CFP?

A: Never give up. The feeling of nervousness that you have when you walk through the doors everyday… everyone has that. Just concentrate on being the best you possible. Nobody is going to laugh at you if you stuck at something.
