Don’t walk too closely to someone who’s performing a lift.
Stay mindful of your surroundings as a lifter and while walking around the gym. Give plenty of space between yourself and a moving barbell.
Pick up your equipment.
We learned this as toddlers. Don’t give up now. When you’re done with it, wipe it down, and put it back where you found it.
Don’t talk during the white board discussion.
The whiteboard discussion is a time for Coaches to set the tone and standards for that day’s workout. It’s a critical component and underestimating how much a member or Coach thinks of its importance would be a terrible mistake. Hold your comments until the WB discussion is finished.
Don’t start cleaning up until the last person has finished the WOD.
Your hands should be busy clapping, not cleaning up.
Don’t be late.
Your fate when you’re late will depend on your Coach. Some will hand out burpees, some will give you grief, and some will ignore it. But you may be underestimating how much you’re annoying your fellow members with your tardiness. Asking questions that have already been answered or delaying a warm up won’t go over well, especially if it’s a regular occurrence.
Show up!
The most important rule is simply showing up. Results happen when you are consistent. It really is that easy.
