Get To Know Benjamin Christenson

What do you do for a living?

I’m an Auto Technician at Zumbrota Ford.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?

Spend time with my wife or play Xbox.

What made you decide to try Progression Fitness?

My old Box closed.  Followed my “Bro” here.

How long have you been at Progression Fitness?

4-5 months.

What was your experience with fitness like prior to joining Progression Fitness?

Well I worked out on my own for awhile at Northgate gym for awhile.  My wife signed up for “Worlds Best Boot Camp” and I figured I would try it as well.  Went through the 6 week boot camp and started CrossFit.

What was your biggest fear when you started?

Same thing my biggest fear has always been… cardio.

Favorite cheat day meal?

Five Guys burger with large fry and a stop at Coldstone for a Strawberry Shake.

What goal(s) are you currently chasing?

At the current moment my goals are to hit a body weight (215 lb) snatch and dominate at Festivus Games.

What’s the hardest part about your fitness journey at the moment?

Cardio and trying to lose some fat around my stomach.

What’s one thing your fellow CFP’ers would be surprised to learn about you?

When I get to work the first thing I do is check the WOD for the day.

What’s your favorite piece of advice you’ve gotten from a Coach or member at Progression Fitness?

All of the critiques on my OLY movements.

How has your outlook on health/fitness changed since joining Progression Fitness?

I went from dreading going to the gym to workout by myself to it being one of my favorite parts of the day.

What has been your fondest memory during your time at Progression Fitness?

Setting a new PR on my snatch that actually looked like a snatch.

Why do you think you’ve stuck with Progression Fitness?

I really enjoy the programming and I love the OLY class.

What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining Progression Fitness?

You’ll pass out before you die so suck it up and stick with it.
