What do you do for a living?
I’m a Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?
Spending time outside, reading Harry Potter, or grocery shopping at HyVee.
What made you decide to try Progression?
I had just started CrossFit bootcamp at a different gym a month prior but they closed so CFP was my first go to. I’ve been hooked since!
How long have you been at Progression?
About a year and a half.
What was your experience with fitness like prior to Progression?
I played sports in high school then played around with the elliptical, running, and lighter weights.
What was your biggest fear when you started?
Looking dumb and not knowing the movements.
Favorite cheat day meal?
Sushi.
What goal(s) are you currently chasing?
Pull ups… I was always the kid in test outs that couldn’t do them so I will do this for my third grade self!
What’s one thing your fellow CFP’ers would be surprised to learn about you?
I grew up in northern Minnesota on a sugar beet farm. My dad even had me driving tractor.
What’s your favorite piece of advice you’ve gotten from a Coach or Member at Progression?
Shelly reminds me often that every workout is only my own at my speed and the best that I can do and that’s all that matters. Being better than who you were yesterday is important.
How has your outlook on health/fitness changed since starting at Progression?
My outlook has become much more healthy and mindful. The gym has brought to my attention the importance of taking care of my whole self and not just my physical self. So important!
What has been your fondest memory during your time at Progression?
Summer workouts opening up the doors and my first Murph. Loved the honor and community.
Why do you think you’ve stuck with Progression?
Love, love, love the community, laughs, and how I finally feel well in all aspects.
What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining Progression?
Nutrition is the foundation of becoming physically well so get in touch with Juli or Jen. They’re great mentors.
