What do you do for a living?

I work from home as a healthcare documentation specialist, (fancy name for medical transcriptionist) for Mayo Clinic.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?

Spending time with my grandson, camping, kayaking, anything outside in the sun when the weather is nice.

What made you decide to try Progression?

I was going to 9round and was looking for something more.  I had always wanted to try CrossFit but was way too intimidated and figured I was too old to do any of those kinds of exercises.  I decided to google it and check it out anyway and found Progression Fitness and decided to step outside my comfort zone and check it out.

How long have you been at Progression Fitness?

2 1/2 years.

What was your experience with fitness like prior to Progression?

I have always been conscious of my weight and have always tried to be doing some type of exercise.  I would get bored and need to try something new all the time.  I really didn’t enjoy exercise and working out.  I just knew it was something that I needed to do.

What was your biggest fear when you started?

I didn’t know anyone and was just afraid of making a fool of myself and not. being able to keep up.

Favorite cheat day meal?

Papa Murphy’s cowboy pizza!

What goal(s) are you currently chasing?

Like so many others, I would really like to be able to do kipping pull-ups.  I’m also signed up for the spring Hammer Race, Muddy Warrior Run, The Spartan, and the Color Run, so my goal is to finish all those things without dying!

What’s the hardest part about your fitness journey at the moment?

Trying not to compare my abilities with the other people I’m working out with.

What’s one thing your fellow CFP’ers would be surprised to learn about you?

I’m actually a very shy person until I get to know people.  I know the purple hair would make you think differently.

What’s your favorite piece of advice you’ve gotten from a Coach or member at Progression?

This is your workout!  Do what’s right for you.

How has your outlook on health and fitness changed since staring at Progression?

It has become a lifestyle and the best part of my day instead of something I have to do to lose weight and stay in shape.

What has been your fondest memory during your time at Progression?

There are so many!  FNL, Memorial Day Murph, Nog Fest, Turkey Throwdown, and seriously every day at 3:30pm with all of my 3:30 peeps!  I work from home so I look forward to getting out for an awesome WOD with so many great people ad giving Coach Rob a hard time!

Why do you think you’ve stuck with Progression Fitness?

I never get bored and I have made so many new friends.  It’s the only place I can go where everyone else understand what it’s like to drink the koolaid and not be looked at like a freak!

What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining Progression Fitness?

Some days will be harder than others and there will be days you don’t want to come, but push through it because it is so worth it both mentally and physically!
