J: What do you do for a living?
S: I work in Patient Accounts for Mayo Clinic.
J: Where are you from? Where did you grow up?
S: Rochester, MN.
J: What brought you to CrossFit Progression/How did you find us?
S: Went to a friends and family night with Nicki and Ben Schafer, signed up that night!
J: What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?
S: Cooking and BBQ’ing with my husband.
J: We have Hip Hop Friday, but do we need to talk about an entire day at the gym devoted to Country music?
S: No Way! However, 90’s pop may need to make an appearance!
J: Favorite cheat meal?
S: Pizza.
J: What’s your favorite healthy recipe?
S: Does Chipotle count?

J: Would you rather: Clean & Jerk or Overhead Squat?
S: Overhead Squat.
J: Would you rather: Leopard Crawl or Mountain Climbers?
S: Leopard crawl.
J: What’s your least favorite movement?
S: Mountain climbers.
J: What’s your perfect WOD?
S: I love a good old butt kicking Tabata.
J: What goal(s) are you currently chasing?
S: Last January I fractured my ankle. I am slowly building the strength back up. I would like to start jogging.
J: What’s one thing that your fellow CFP members would be surprised to know about you?
S: I am extremely sensitive; my workouts have been known to bring me to tears.
J: What’s the hardest part of CrossFit?
S: Showing up.
J: What’s the best thing you’ve gotten out of your time at CFP?
S: Self-confidence and increased functional movements.
J: Favorite piece of advice you’ve gotten from a coach at CFP?
S: It is not about who finishes the work out first or last. It’s not a competition with others; it’s a competition that lies within you. How can I be better? What can I push myself to do?
J: Why do you make time to get to the gym?
S: I have just started making it a priority. More specifically at the 6 AM REV class.
J: How has your outlook on yourself changed since joining CrossFit Progression?
S: I don’t look at obstacles and think, “I cannot do this”. Instead, I think, “what can I do” and I make a game plan.
J: What has been your fondest memory during your time at CrossFit Progression?
S: Surviving Boot camp 1.0 in a walking boot.
J: How is your experience at CFP different from what you’ve done previously?
S: Accountability from the community and coaches. If you miss a class someone is bound to notice.
J: What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining CrossFit Progression?
S: Stick with it! Don’t be afraid to ask questions or for a modification if needed. It’s a group of buddies to lean on.
