Meet Tony Slonaker, new Intern at Progression! Get to know Tony Slonaker… Growing up, I was not an athlete in the traditional sense, but was fortunate enough to enjoy athletic activities. I grew up skateboarding, riding BMX, mountain biking, etc. After high school, I went straight into the US Navy to work with the Marine Corp infantry as a Hospital Corpsman. It was during deployments that I began lifting weights with a goal of being “strong.” I felt I was already fit by being involved in the Marine Corp physical training (PT) program. In addition to the regular PT, I also became interested in the Marine Corp Martial Arts Program, as well as boxing. I was active enough, and uninformed enough, that I didn’t pay any particular attention to nutrition, eating on base for most meals. Wonder Woman, Bootcamp O.G., CFP Veteran.  You can call Kirsten many things but you’ve got to read on to hear her perspective on health and fitness to really understand how awesome she is. What do you do for a living? I’m an Informatics Nurse which is a nursing specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science. What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym? I love shopping at Goodwill, Savers, and Salvation Army.  I buy quite a bit of my clothes second hand and rarely pay retail.  So if you see me wearing an outfit that looks familiar it was probably yours! Get to know Progression’s newest Full-Time Team Member!! Kristina Buchholz Kristina has always had a passion for fitness. Competing in many sports throughout high school, she learned that she did not want to give it up. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in May of 2016 with a BS degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management. During her four years there, she ran on the cross country and track team. She coached a youth running team her senior year of college and realized coaching was something that she had a huge interest in. Post graduation, she moved back to Rochester, where she calls home and has pursued both an internship with CrossFit Progression and with Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine. Outside of CrossFit, Kristina enjoys taking her dog, Husker, for trail runs, jamming out to whatever is playing on the radio, and binge-watching her favorite shows on Netflix. Kristina plans...
