Community Fitness Passion.  CFP. Let’s talk about the C in CFP. by: Joshua J. Grenell Community. Every gym claims to have a great community.  But what is it actually? I think about this often, I see it often, and I have a hard time explaining it.  Trying to explain it to potential new members is oftentimes impossible. Over the years I have broken it into a couple of different parts and it helps me understand it and why it is essential to making your Fitness and Health journey successful. 1.  Fishbowl theory.  The fishbowl theory is based on evidence that you will behave and act like the people you surround yourself with.  At Progression, we are full of different kinds of people.  Different knowledge, different life experiences, different outlooks, different motivations, different religions, different cultures.  All of these different people share fitness and health as an important priority in their...

Have you ever prepared for a difficult challenge of any sort and then felt a letdown after the event or test? For many of us, this is very normal. Figuring that out is the first step to understanding. Our species did not get to where we are by being satisfied with the status quo. The saying that the journey is the destination is true for many. Without challenge, many people struggle mentally. I think this has been forgotten by many. It isn’t easy for these people to deal with these feelings because it looks like they have everything going for them from the outside. Without purpose, life is not enjoyable. Training and working toward something are exciting and rewarding. Having an event or due date is the motivation, but it is not the destination. Summer is here! At Progression your results are guaranteed. You don’t need a specific goal, but it helps if you have one. My favorite saying is getting through the doors is all it takes to get fit. The main difference between our gym and others is that fact. Your fitness is not guaranteed if you join most gyms. Will you go? If you do go do you know what to do? If you know what to do, will you do it? Will you do it consistently? Progression is not get fit quick. Progression is get fit for sure. -JG Our society pushes more and more toward quick rewards, impatience, and ease. Progression is quick, you just need to redefine what quick is. Impatience turns to practice. Fitness is easy when you have a guide. The gym’s personal record board is full of names every month. It is time to get your name on...
