1.  In general, what is your background?

I am from a suburb of Green Bay. Yes, I am a Packer Fan!

I’m married and a mother of 2 boys. Nolan (3) Isaac(2).  14 months apart.

Athletically, I have always been into “working out” and sport participation.  I have never been stellar at any sport, (most improved… maybe, but playmaker, for sure not!).  I have learned through the years that intense workouts invigorate me.  I lost some of that after having babies… and I am excited to have the drive to be active back and all that comes with it!!

2.  Age, occupation

31, Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine

3.  How did you get to know about CrossFit, how did you start?

I think back in NP school Jen Grenell told me about her hubby’s involvement with the gym, but at that time I was a slave to cardioKickbox, spinning classes, and biking to Pine Island on the Douglas trail (thinking I was a badass cyclist haha). Then I had babies which took priority and time was not something I had a lot of.  I continued to jog, occasionally bike, Jillian Michaels workout, or tried to complete p90X without fast forwarding through the AbRipper. January 2011, I started at NW clinic and time for making time for myself became even less of a priority.  The word Crossfit kept coming into my life. A patient would talk about CFP, I would pass the daily 5:30p 400M run on my way home…. I was intrigued!! I started stalking the CFP website, and almost signed up for boot camp about 5 times before finally committing.  I started BootCamp with Shawn in June/July 2012, and I was hooked from day 1!

4.  How has CrossFit changed your life, life style, level of fitness.

Right before Crossfit I was stuck. I was busier at work and home, the 30 minute of 6mph jog late night on the treadmill became a chore. I didn’t see ANY results except for occasional personal best at a local 5 or 10K.  CFP has been completely fulfilling. I have personal records weekly, and have made exercise a priority again!!  I haven’t lost much weight, but I have gained endurance and strength, for sure, and I have toned.  Most importantly, I am happier, and I am sure this has impacted my relationships with my kids, my husband, my friends and my family! I know that I need to work on my diet- and hope to make those tweaks in 2013.

5.  Name one goal or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.

If I had to choose just one unassisted pull up or kipping pull up.
